STAR Physical Therapy
Specializing In . . .

Orthopedic Therapy - A Physical Therapist at STAR will conduct a thorough patient evaluation on your first visit. Based on those findings and your personal goals, a personalized plan of treatment will begin on day one. Orthopedic therapy goals may include increased strength, flexibility, fitness and decreased pain.

Fracture and Post Operative Rehabilitation - STAR PT's will work to get you back on your feet and into your daily routine through manual stretching, progressive exercise, and strength building techniques focusing on your individual problems and goals, following surgery or fracture.

Athletic Injuries - Athletes treating athletes, STAR gets you back in the game quickly and safely. Most of STAR's PT's are experienced athletes. Some are still competing in (age appropriate) venues. Athletic performance enhancement, injury prevention and expert care in case of injury is a powerful asset to you when you choose STAR PT.

Balance and Vestibular Evaluations and Treatment - Ask for Patti Baylis, PT, one of our physical therapists specializing in vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT). She can help people affected by balance disorders to regain function by designing exercise plans tailored to their specific needs. Some balance disorders, no matter the length of time they've been present, can be quickly and effectively managed. Only a thorough evaluation by an expert such as Patti Baylis, PT, can determine if vestibular physical therapy will be helpful to you.

Spine Conditions and Low Back Pain - Spine conditions, such as low back pain, leg pain (radiculopathy) and spinal stenosis, can successfully be managed with Physical Therapy. A thorough patient specific evaluation and treatment program is established on day one with your STAR physical therapist. Specific corrective exercises, back education, and at times, traction may be used to eliminate the current problem and educate you in the management any future episodes. Instruction is often desperately lacking when a patient seeks help from other ancillary sources. STAR Physical Therapists are dedicated to helping you manage spine conditions and low back pain. Ask for Chris Berttucini who is our certified McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the Spine specialist.

Neck Pain - Treatment will start with a thorough examination and history and consist of therapies such as heat, stretching, traction, exercise and possibly re-education on proper posture or suggestions of lifestyle changes.

Foot and Ankle Conditions - We treat many foot/ankle conditions or injuries with treatments that control inflammation, breakdown scar tissue and rebuild strength through manual therapy and stretching.

Hand Therapy - Whether due to arthritis or injury, STAR Physical Therapists can improve your dexterity, strength, range of motion and decrease pain in your hands through proper stretching and exercise.

Neurological Conditions - After neurological injury or with neurological conditions, physical therapy is important to regain many functions and the ability to perform daily activities. STAR PT's can teach patients how to manage their activities and daily living again, increase independence and live happier lives.

Automobile Accident Injuries - If you have experienced orthopedic injuries resulting from a motor vehicle accident, STAR has the experienced PT's to reduce your pain, increase your mobility and get you back to your daily activities. Individual and injury specific evaluation is the first step.

Work Injuries - If you have sustained a work-related injury, such as described above, which will benefit from physical therapy, ask your doctor or workers compensation insurance provider to be referred to STAR. We will work with you and your company to get you back to your abilities to get back to work. As with all patients, we begin with a thorough history, evaluation and course of treatment to plan and meet your job specific needs.

Personal Training - STAR has a staff of personal trainers who will work with you one-on-one to design a personalized program around your schedule and personal fitness goals. There is no need for a prescription nor do you have to be a STAR patient to utilize our personal trainers.

Transition Program - For patients who have reached their physical therapy goals but are interested in taking their fitness training to the next level. The 3 week package includes 5 one-on-one sessions with our Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, 4 independent sessions, and access to our brand new 4800 sq ft rehabilitation facility, including our state-of-the-art cardio and fitness equipment.
